Meet the Founder of Rasing Beauty.
Q: WHO IS THE FOUNDER OF RASING BEAUTY?
A: My name is Joanne Hedstrom. I officially founded Rasing Beauty in August 2018. I’ve worked alongside many talented skin therapists, makeup artists & hair stylists in NYC. What truly inspired me most throughout my career are the women entrepreneurs I’ve met & those who I had the opportunity to work with for many years. I think it is important for women to support each other & continue bridging the gap between gender equality.
Q: WHAT DOES RASING BEAUTY OFFER?
A: Rasing Beauty is a gender-neutral beauty service for all skin types & conditions. Currently, we offer customized professional facial treatments that may include advanced technology equipment for greater results & professional makeup & grooming services. Our goal is for you to live your best skin comfortably by using the best ingredients. We take ingredients very seriously. If you have highly sensitive skin or have any allergens, please reach out & we will be sure to fully customize your beauty services & product recommendations accordingly.
Q: WHERE DID THE NAME RASING BEAUTY ORIGINATE FROM?
A: Rasing is my family surname, it’s a name that will forever resonate with me. I come from a long line of a very strong, resilient & loving family. My parents are both survivors; my mother from ovarian cancer and my father from kidney disease. Both my parent’s strength and courage have opened my eyes to find different alternatives to live and promote better awareness to a cleaner lifestyle.
As for Beauty, it is the one thing that is important to not only feel on the outside but to also feel within.
Q: WHY RASING BEAUTY?
A: There are thousands of toxins which may aid in cancer, allergens, reproductive & organ issues that surround us every day, which is almost impossible to avoid. Surprisingly to this day, more than a handful of toxins are found in products from many major cosmetic companies.
My mission for creating Rasing Beauty is to help us, myself included, recognize a fair amount of sensitizing & toxic ingredients that we may want to rethink about daily usage. To start… Rasing Beauty is fully committed to be free of products that contain parabens, phthalates, sodium laureth sulfates/sodium lauryl sulfates, artificial parfums/fragrances, coal tar, triclosan, & propylene glycol, mineral oil, formaldehyde and hydroquione. We care about the earth too & are working hard to help maintain sustainability. We will do our very best to help protect the earth by working with primarily recyclable & biodegradable goods.
Q: IS YOUR COMPANY ORGANIC?
A: Rasing Beauty is clean free of many toxic & sensitizing ingredients as mentioned above. There are thousands of ingredients labeled toxic. Although we cannot avoid every single toxic ingredient out there, we can make a choice of what to avoid. At Rasing Beauty we omit the most common toxic ingredients that are found in current products sold today for professional use & for your daily at-home health & beauty routine. Let’s be honest, at times we want a quick fix of things to see a faster result which requires not-so-great ingredients. My recommendation is to leave those quick fix results to medical practitioners & licensed professionals. Also, don’t go overboard! Be progressive, not aggressive. Your skin will truly thank you in the long run!
